Here it is. And here, via Angry Asian Buddhist, is why you might not like it so much.

yeah I haven’t been too pleased about this myself. I adore the original series, it’s the most well made western tv animation I have seen in years. And it isn’t just the Buddhist philosiphies that I love about it (although I thought it was so cool when they had like entire episodes dedicated!)
One of the great things about this series is the amount of thought they put into the four different kingdoms’ culture, and how those cultures are based on real cultures. Even the architecture and clothes reflect those cultures! Many fantasy writers will not go into this much detail, and will prefer to just make quick shallow copies of LotR (or in this kind of situation some cool anime they watched once!)
Although it’s only my personal opinion, I think the best fantasy stories take some influence from real life to make their worlds feel even more detailed and real, and therefore even more amazing to be sunk into.
And thus I don’t like mostly Caucasian cast. I feel that if they are not going to cast the same ethnicities as in the animation, then they will not go into the same amount of cultural detail that the animation did. :(
I’m not usually one for hollywood films, I didn’t realise it had such a ‘history’ of this kinda thing, how sad…

Was this a book also..or taken from a book? I bet the graphics are amazing. But it is only fantasy, my friends. I know some Baptists who hate “Avatar” because beautiful blue people worship a goddess..not J.C. Please, let us not be that, this is just a movie. My grandpa is Lakota and Hollywood dresses their “Lakota” in everything,,,from Tahitian skirts to lovely Navajo garb. Grandpa just laughed.
