On the basis of the intro I expected the worst, but it doesn’t look SO bad, especially that first B&W scene. And as for Franco being too good-looking, from what I’ve seen, Ginsberg was very attractive in his youth (not that he wasn’t when he was older – I mean in the context of Hollywood cinema, of course), so I’m not convinced that’s an issue.

In any case, will look forward to seeing the whole thing when I get a chance!

Doesnt anyone else think that Franko is just a bit too good looking to play Allen Ginsberg?
Too me this is disturbing. As a society are we so infatuated with beauty that we have to re-package our cultural trailblazers and artists to make them more palatable for the mainstream?
I see this happening more an more in movies now. This reminds me of the really weird Hayden Christensen as Bob Dylan thing in Factory Girl.

Any movie opening in January [just after awards-elegibiligy season] is worrisome. But the clips look good to me! I wanna see it! Yep! Boy howdy! Weeeeeeee.

actually, while waiting for the clip to load, i was dubious — but i found myself really getting into it. allen’s words and persona come through, and transcend. i have to give franco credit. i think he’s done a fine job, judging by what i saw here.
