Miranda Kerr launches Buddhist-inspired skincare line

News of a new strain of Dharma-Burger, via Digital Spy:

“The Australian Victoria’s Secret model, who is dating actor Orlando Bloom, said that her line will be 100% organic. [...] The range will be called Kora after a type of meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and will only be available in Australian department store David Jones, of which Kerr is the brand ambassador.”

Kerr is a practitioner of Nichiren Buddhism, through SGI. And so is her beau.

Now, if I were to launch a really Buddhist-inspired skin care line, I’d probably call it Illusion. The moisturizers, NighttimeDream and DaytimeIllusion, would come in 7 oz. bottles of…emptiness. Organic, of course. The toner, in an 8 oz. bottle, would be mostly distilled water with a hint of saffron essence; to apply, moisten a cotton pad, place in offering bowl, and visualize all buddhas and bodhisattvas being pleased. Discard the next day and repeat. You’ll see amazing results in just months of application! Lastly, the fabulous lipstick would be called iDreamTint: you’d apply it and it would show up as just the absolutely right color for your skin tone! And completely disappear in 49 seconds. Check in later for our Spring line…

The title of this article would be more accurate if it stated “Miranda Kerr Stole the Name for Her New Line from a Russian Cosmetics Company but is telling Everyone it’s Buddhist-Inspired.”
