We see organized religion as being very militant whereas the pagan religions and the eastern religions are much more acceptable.

Many metalheads simply use satanism as an expression of antitheist values and general iconoclasm toward the militant religions.

His quote reinforces the previous comment that he probably doesn’t know much about Buddhism.

And considering how my Pagan friends abhor Satanism and other “left hand” paths, it also makes me wonder if he knows much about Paganism.

My guess is that he would not like the teachings of Buddhism if he knew more about them, but just doesn’t have a problem with it because buddhists don’t go door-to-door and generally don’t kill in the name of Buddhism. The nontheistic aspect doesn’t hurt either.
