If you’re new to The Worst Horse, you might be wondering what a “Dharma-Burger” is.
No, it’s not some new fast-food sandwich, but it can be every bit as dubious as a Mc-DLT and a super-sized “New Coke.” A “Dharma-Burger” is, actually, any example of Buddhist ideas or imagery in the marketing or production of (usually non-Buddhist) services and consumables.
See, for example, the bottle to the left. It’s for a GNC supplement called “Fully Empowered Zen.” That’s a Dharma-Burger.
But not all Dharma-Burgers are so lame. Some are cool. The Horse likes to talk about those too.
The Worst Horse seems to always be hearing about and covering these increasingly-present types of items. So it was a natural choice for a name.
Plus, “Dharma-Burger” is just fun to say.
And if you want to catch up on the Dharma-Burgers we covered before launching this blog, just check the archives, which feature Burgers a-plenty of all kinds, including many sent in by the Horse’s readers:
Dharma-Burger, year one archive
Dharma-Burger archive 2007, part one
Dharma-Burger archive 2007, part two
Consider yourself “fully empowered.”
